A&A Driving School has been conducting classes since 1980 and is licensed by the state of Michigan. The instructors are all approved by the Michigan Department of Education to teach students under the age of 18. All driving records are open and available to the public upon request.
Many people with developmental disabilities can drive a car and some people may need additional training or adaptations to a car. A&A Driving also offers a driver’s evaluation and training program for people with special needs. This program is designed to assist individuals in developing or regaining skills necessary for safe, independent personal transportation. The highly trained staff is composed of occupational therapists, special educators, certified driving instructors and board-certified driver rehabilitation specialists. Their team approach to the goal of independent driving offers an individualized program for persons with physical, visual, cognitive and/ or emotional disabilities.
People who want services through the Drivers Rehabilitation Center of Michigan should obtain a physician’s referral for driver rehabilitation. The person must be at least 14 years, 9 months of age, possess a valid driver’s license or a temporary permit and be seizure free for at least six months.
